/PanARMENIAN.Net/ "Certain circles are interested in blowing up
the issue related to Eurovision contest," Novruz Mammadov, head of
the international relations department of Azerbaijan’s presidential
administration.

"I do not know who conducts the proceedings. I made inquires and saw
that this issue is exaggerated in some sense by some interested party.

I believe that, like in other issues, conditions are created from
somebody to carry out some campaign. Of course, in such matters must
be approached very carefully. At the same time, in Azerbaijan it is
turned into business, some opposition members seeking to achieve their
goals and please certain Western circles, are not shy to humiliate
Azerbaijan, doing a political speculation. Apparently, this process
can give a good dividend, since such cases have recently observed
from time to time ", Mammadov said, APA reports.

Last week in the Azeri press disseminated information that the
Ministry of National Security of Azerbaijan interrogated 43 citizens
voted in favor of the Armenian singers Inga and Anush Arshakyan
at the Eurovision Song Contest 2009. In this regard, the European
Broadcasting Union EBU started their own investigation.

As Diana Mnatsakanyan, adviser to Executive Director of Armenia’s
Public TV told a PanARMEINIAN.Net reporter, in order to know phone
number of the voters, there must be an official document issued with
the permission of EMU and the Digame company, responsible for counting
the votes. Permission to declassify the phone numbers may be given
in case of criminal proceedings against these people.

"Action of the Azerbaijani Government are ridiculous. 27 people in
Armenia voted for a song performed by Azeri singer and no one went
as far as to call KGB," Diana Mnatsakanyan said.
