The curtain will go up on the 13th annual Huronia Film Series later
this month.

Organizers have a variety of films lined up for this year’s playbill,
which is scheduled to begin Aug. 26 at the Galaxy Cinema.

The Toronto International Film Festival and the Film Circuit have
provided organizers with a unique opportunity to showcase
limited-release movies that wouldn’t normally be shown outside of
larger city centres.

The opening selection will be `Adoration’ by acclaimed Canadian
screenwriter and director Atom Egoyan.. The film won an ecumenical
award at the Cannes Film Festival.

The second film will be `Waterlife,’ scheduled for Sept. 2. This movie
follows the flow of water from the Great Lakes to the Atlantic Ocean,
revealing how water is tainted along its route by human activity.

“I should like to see any power of the world destroy this race, this small tribe of unimportant people, whose wars have all been fought and lost, whose structures have crumbled, literature is unread, music is unheard, and prayers are no more answered. Go ahead, destroy Armenia . See if you can do it. Send them into the desert without bread or water. Burn their homes and churches. Then see if they will not laugh, sing and pray again. For when two of them meet anywhere in the world, see if they will not create a New Armenia.” - WS
