YEREVAN, AUGUST 11, NOYAN TAPAN. The 1st stage meetings of the FIDE
Grand Prix Tournament took place on August 9 in Jermuk. Armenian chess
players Levon Aronian and Vladimir Hakobian who performed with black
played a drawn game correspondingly with Vassily Ivanchuk (Ukraine)
and Evgeny Alekseev (Russia).

Aronian competes on August 10 with Evgeny Alekseev and Hakobian
competes with Ivan Cheparinov (Bulgaria).
