Russia feels it has lost control of the situation in the region and
is trying to strengthen its relations with the countries that have
not shown much interest in developing relations with Moscow, Shumn
Khatlamajyan, Program Coordinator, Institute of Civil Society and
Regional Development, told NEWS. am.

"It is an accomplished fact that Russia, Azerbaijan and Turkey have
common interests, and we should not get into panic over that. For
some reason Armenia takes all the developments and relations in the
region as something aimed against it," Khatlamajyan said.

If Armenia’s principal strategic partner, Russia, cooperates
with Armenia alone in this region, "this will not get her very
far." Khatlamajyan pointed out that Russia is aware of the fact
that "everything is perfectly clear with Armenia" and is trying to
establish relations with other countries, the ones it has lack of
understanding with.
