NATIONAL COMPETITIVENESS FUND DISCUSSES HEALTHCARE, EDUCATIONAL PROJECTS IN ARMENIA

YEREVAN, August 3. /ARKA/. The regular meeting of Armenia’s national
competitiveness fund was held in Yerevan Saturday, presided over by
the country’s Premier Tigran Sargsyan.

The fund is now focuses on a number of main directions – public health,
education, tourism and development of information technologies,
executive director of the fund Bekor Papazyan told a press conference.

The fund is implementing oncology, cardiology and nuclear medicine
projects in public health field, a project on rehabilitation of Tatev
monastery in tourism field and a project on introduction of a 200,000
USD worth Internet network – together with the World Bank and the
Ministry of Economy – in IT sector, Papazyan said.

Armenian national competitiveness’ fund was founded in 2008 as part
of government – private sector cooperation initiative. The fund is
to promote the country’s competitiveness and ensure a breakthrough
in economic development.
