ARMENIA’S HEALTH MINISTRY TAKES STEPS TO DEAL WITH A (H1N1) VIRUS

/PanARMENIAN.Net/ All measures to effectively confront A (H1N1) virus
are taken in Armenia, in case of its penetration into the country,
Liana Torosyan, the chief specialist of sanitary and epidemiological
inspection of Armenia’s ministry of health, told a press conference
in Yerevan.

"The Nork hospital has done all the necessary preparations for the
treatment of the disease, if necessary," Liana Torosyan said, adding
that there are no patients with the A (H1N1) virus in Armenia at
the moment.

According to her, there is no reason to panic, all necessary measures
to prevent the spread of the A (H1N) virus are taken in the RA Ministry
of health, special department has been established bringing together
various specialists and the sanitary and quarantine station operates
at the Zvartnots airport.

"Information leaflets are distributed in all areas of the country by
regional administrations and departments, " Liana Torosyan said.

investments are not fully utilize their capacities to attract
investment, results of the International Finance Corporation (IFC)
study testifies. Austrian Business Agency ranks the first in the
survey. Several middle-income countries – in particular, Brazil,
Botswana, Columbia have shown excellent results in attracting
investments.

Among CIS countries Armenia is a leader in attracting
investments. However, foreign investors who turn to state agencies to
make investments in the former Soviet Union countries are likely to
be disappointed: all former Soviet Union countries except Armenia,
Georgia and Azerbaijan were included in the group of "weak" and
"very weak" in respect of showings indicating their interaction with
potential investors.

In fact, the vast majority of countries in the region, government
agencies, responsible for attracting foreign direct investments,
either simply not responded to requests from investors, or turned to
be unavailable.

will be useful in drawing 2010 state budget, RA Prime Minister
Tigran Sargsyan said at Thursday’s governmental meeting. According
to Prime Minister, Control Chamber activities’ report was discussed
at the meeting with Chamber Chairman. "Mistakes and shortcomings of
last years show how our reserves cold be used for financial means’
economy," Tigran Sargsyan noted.

Sargsyan added that losses, inflicted on RA Government as a result
of mistakes made, should be recovered. In this connection the Prime
Minister assigned authorities in charge with a responsibility to
undertake measures for full recovery of financial means lost.

cooperation in the sphere of culture. The document was reviewed by
an expert group at the meeting of July 28-29 in the CIS Executive
Committee in Minsk.

Representatives of Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Kazakhstan,
Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Russia, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan took part in
a meeting.

The Russian side mentioned that there is a need to finalize the
document, including the activities of the Council for Humanitarian
Cooperation, the Interstate Fund for Humanitarian Cooperation
of CIS countries and the annual forum of creative and scientific
intelligentsia, expressing readiness to cooperate with Azerbaijani
counterparts. The finalized draft concept must be submitted to the
Board of the Commonwealth by November 20 this year, press service of

changes in certification order for agricultural production export. The
changes stipulate for certification process facilitation for
agricultural production export, governmental report said.

In accordance with changes introduced, manufacturers exporting up to
2,5 ton of agriculture products will pay AMD 2000 for certificate of
origin, instead of AMD 15000 stipulated. Besides, the certificate will
be provided within 1 day, and products’ expertise process facilitated.

The resolution will affect small and medium-sized business and is
aimed at export promotion, RA Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan said at
Thursday’s governmental meeting.

The NKR government passed a law today regarding supplemental
income payments for teachers assigned to schools outside their home
districts. According to the program, certain teachers are eligible
for supplemental payments of up to 50% of their base salary.

The plan also calls for rent allowances in the maximum amount of
20,000 AMD per month. NKR Science and Education Minister Vladik
Khachatryan stated that any citizen with a higher education can apply
for a teacher’s license but that preference is given to residents of
a particular district.
