PERSONS WHO ROBBED VTB ARMENIA BANK’S BRANCH ARRESTED

YEREVAN, JULY 24, NOYAN TAPAN. Thanks to the efficient cooperation of
the RA Police sub-units and the frontier guards of the Bagratashen
customs house of the RA National Security Service, the participants
of the July 22 robbery attack on branch No.4 of the VTB Armenia Bank
were arrested.
On July 23 the following citizens of Georgia: Revaz Gulbatashvili,
38, Tinatin Davitashvili, 37, and Davit Abuladze, 33, were taken to
the police from the Bagratashen check-point – on suspicion of having
committed a robbery. Davit Abuladze’s cousin – Gela Abuladze, 33 was
taken to the police from Yerevan’s Zvartnots Airport.
The above mentioned persons were searched, as a result of which the
policemen found and seized 3,800 dollars, 6,000 rubles, sport garment,
wigs, hats, bags, dark sunglasses, a clasp-knife, alcoholic drinks,
etc.
Under the weight of the evidence, the members of the gang confessed
that they had committed the robbery of the VTB Armenia Bank’s branch.
Measures are being taken to reveal other crimes committed by them.
To recap, at 9:20 am on July 22, three armed persons in masks
entered VTB Armenia Bank’s branch No. 4 at 56 Baghramian Avenue in
Yerevan. They threatened the manager Seda Hovhannisian with a knife
and beat her. After taking 3 million 913 thousand drams, 3,040 dollars,
420 euros and 18,000 rubles, the robbers took to flight.
