DBAYYEH: The launch of the official Rotary year 2009-2010 was marked
with a glittering reception at Dbayyeh’s Le Royal Hotel on July 1. The
Rotary Clubs of Lebanon gathered together with their slightly more
youthful Rotaract counterparts (aged between 18-30) to wish each other
a happy Rotarian new year and to celebrate the accession of Lebanese
District Representative Christine Arzoumian as leader of District
2450, consisting of Armenia, Bahrain, Cyprus, Egypt, Georgia, Jordan,
Lebanon, Sudan and the UAE). Among the prominent guests were Interior
Minister Ziad Baroud, members of Parliament Michel Pharaon and Chant
Chinchinian, as well as Loris Dahdah and Rita Katra.
