/PanARMENIAN.Net/ ANC representative Vahagn Khatchatryan
said at today’s news conference that the opposition sees
constitutional struggle as a way out of current situation. He
also called on opposition supporters to show insubordination and
irreconcilability. "We’ll fight till the end, and the next elections
conducted in Armenia will be directed at the change of power,"
Vahagn Khatchatryan stated. He noted that for serious struggle
against political forces currently at power, ANC should at minimum
take possession of administrative recourses.

According to Vahagn Khatchatryan, Armenia is stuck in a swamp and
the authorities do not realize that by conducting such disgraceful
elections, they keep exacerbating the situation. "In the end, we’ll
either face a civil war or a revolution. ANC will take its best
efforts to prevent the civil war, as it would signify the end of the
third Republic of Armenia."

Lawfulness Of Decision On Development Of Teghut Deposit To Be Determ

LAWFULNESS OF DECISION ON DEVELOPMENT OF TEGHUT DEPOSIT TO BE DETERMINED IN COURT

ArmInfo
2009-06-03 13:26:00

ArmInfo. The lawfulness of the decision on development of Teghut
deposit will be determined in the court, a lawyer Hayk Alumyan said
at today’s press- conference in ‘Urbat’ club.

According to him, the case will be forwarded to the Administrative
Court on June 5. The circumstance that the country’s legislation,
as well as the international conventions and articles of Armenia’s
constitution were violated during approval of the project of
development of Teghut copper-molybdenum deposit, has become a reason
for the suit. ‘In our suit, we demand to recognize the administrative
acts, used with rough violation of the laws, invalid’, H. Alumyan
said. Moreover, the ecological risks in the submitted ACP project
were reduced several times.

According to Head of Transparency International PO Sona Ayvazyan,
the statements saying the company will cut 357 Ha of woods in all,
are somewhat ungrounded as a large forested area will turn out to
be under the threat of destruction. Moreover, the harm, which may be
caused to the species of flora and fauna, included in the Red Book,
and the boundary river Debet, is not taken into account. Instead,
S. Ayvazyan said, according to the governmental protocol, the boundary
ecological harm in case of development of Teghut deposit is excluded.

The Armenian ecologists are not going to be restricted to the
court only. As S. Ayvazyan said, a work is underway to establish a
cooperation with the international ecological organizations, including
the Green Peace.

DIRECTOR GENERAL OF ‘ELECTRIC NETWORKS OF ARMENIA’: IT IS THE POPULATION AND NOT THE LOCAL ADMINISTRATION THAT PROTESTS AGAINST REMOVAL OF SUBSTATIONS FROM DWELLING HOUSES TO YARDS

ArmInfo. It is the population and not the local administration that
protests against removal of substations from dwelling houses to yards,
Director General of ‘Electric Networks of Armenia’ CJSC Yevgeny
Gladunchik said today in the Public Services Regulatory Commission.

According to him, areas for only 29 substations out of 126 in Yerevan
have been prepared for carrying-out. ‘Active protest of the population
is the most amazing. We have the Cadastre decision for allotment of
land, and a permission for construction, however, the opulation argues
against’, he said. Y. Gladunchik also said the Company is ready for
discussions with representatives of the public sector concerning this
and other problems. He added that the Company will continue upgrading
of the equipment to reduce the duration and the number of power cuts.
