GENOCIDE – THE ONLY REASON FORCING ARMENIANS TO QUIT THEIR HOMELAND

/PanARMENIAN.Net/ Making Armenian and world scientists supporters of
their insensible ideas and theories is just an extreme manifestation
of impudence, David Davtyan expert-analyst of ANALITIKA.at.ua center
said. By characterizing Armenians as emigrants, Turkish historian
Kemal Karat contradicts himself, because the only reason that could
force people to quit their homeland was persecution and extermination,
i.e. Genocide.

"It is certainly difficult to discuss anything with a professor who
makes such blunders, admitting in advance that he knows absolutely
nothing about the matter concerned. It’s hard to guess what goal
he pursued, but the result is obvious. Any professor or specialist
respecting himself should first of all realize what he is speaking
about before proposing any theory or paradigm. Wartime resettlement
of 1 million people should not be confused with a Wisconsin-Istanbul
charter flight. Secondly, the professor didn’t take pains to consider
why Armenians had to quit their homeland which had been liberated of
Islamic-Turkish yoke. Thus, Islamic history expert Kemal Kamar admits
that there were mass killings of Armenians during World War I. But
he lacked the courage to voice the matter and thus take sides with
his colleagues recognizing Genocide," Davtyan stressed.

"In 1917, millions of Armenians emigrated from Ottoman Empire together
with the Russian Army," University Professor and Ottoman history
expert Kemal Karpat finds. The fact, according to him, is recognized
by Armenian historians. "The exact number of migrants was calculated
based on the total number of Armenians living in Anatolia," Turkish
Milliyet daily quotes him as saying during a conference dedicated to
1915 events.

Chakhalyan’s Fate Is The Problem Of The Region’s Entire Armenian Pop

CHAKHALYAN’S FATE IS THE PROBLEM OF THE REGION’S ENTIRE ARMENIAN POPULATION

/PanARMENIAN.Net/
03.06.2009 18:36 GMT+04:00

/PanARMENIAN.Net/ The fate of Vahagn Chakhalyan, leader of "United
Javahk Democratic Alliance" movement, is the problem of the entire
Armenian population of Samtskhe-Javakheti, French lawyer and member of
Paris Bar Patrik Arapyan said. "The problem of the region’s Armenian
population has very deep causes. Since the time of President Zviad
Gamsakhurdia’s rule, the country was governed by the slogan ‘Georgia
for Georgians’. As a result of such policy, the region’s Armenian
population decreased from 0.5 million to 280 thousand. Armenian
activist Chakhalyan’s case should be viewed in the light of such
developments," the lawyer stressed.

On May 29, Tbilisi administrative court held the second hearing to
consider Georgian Justice Ministry’s refusal to register Patrick
Arapyan as Chakhalyan’s defender. After the respondent, i.e. Georgian
Justice Ministry, submitted documents on the court case, the judge
postponed the hearing till June 15, accounting for such decision by
the necessity to review the documents. On February 16, 2009 Georgian
Justice Ministry refused to register lawyer Arapyan as Chakhalyan’s
defender, without giving any justification for such decision. In a
letter addressed to Justice Minister Adeishvili, Georgian Ombudsman
Sozar Subari proposed that Chakhalyan’s right be reinstated by allowing
the French lawyer to act as his defender, but the Georgian authorities
ignored the recommendation.

During the protest held in Paris on April 14 and 28, Georgia’s
Ambassador in France Mamuka Kudava promised that Georgian authorities
would approve the request for Patrick Arapyan’s registration.

On April 6, the court sentenced Vahagn Chakhalyan to 10 years’
in prison, and imposed a fine in the amount of 18.000 laris
($10.650). Chakhalyan’s intend to appeal to higher courts and reach
the European Court of Human Rights.

03.06.2009 19:15 GMT+04:00

/PanARMENIAN.Net/ Israel has no intention to bomb Iran, Isreali FM
Avigdor Liberman announced in Moscow. "Iran’s joining a nuclear club
will be followed by an unprecedented armament race in Near East. This
already poses threat to international order. But we will not bomb
Iran. We are not going to pull the chestnut out of fire for anyone,"
he said. "Israel does not share a common border with Iran, and we
have no claims towards any Iranian zones. That’s why we don’t want
others to use us as tools for solving world problems. The countries
having most fears of and concerns about Iranian nuclear program are
the Emirates, Saudi Arabia and others. Iran, in general, contributes
to instability in the region. We see its active work in Lebanon,
Egypt and Iraq. That’s why the problem does not pertain to Israel,"
Russian BBC quotes Israeli FM as saying.

TEGHUT PROTECTION GROUP FILED A CLAIM TO SUSPEND TEGHUT COPPER-MOLYBDENUM FIELD MINING

/PanARMENIAN.Net/
03.06.2009 19:56 GMT+04:00

/PanARMENIAN.Net/ Today representatives of Teghut Protection Action
Group declared their intention to file an action against Valex Group
Company, which in 2007 has received a permission to launch Teghut
copper-molybdenum field mining.

They also stated that the field mining project violates RA constitution
and legislation as well as international legislative norms, without
providing details on the exact norms violated.

"In 2008 we had a meeting with RA Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan
and we had an impression that necessary steps will be undertaken to
eliminate violations of legislation and international norms in Teghut
copper-molybdenum field mining project. Unfortunately, this hasn’t
been done and we were left with no other choice than to file an action.

In his turn, Hayk Alumyan, who’s prepared a claim, asserted, "It’s
obvious that filed mining project violated a number of international
norms."

Valex Group representative, Vahram Avagyan emphasized, "We’ve
repeatedly stated that we’ve never assumed responsibility for total
elimination of ecological harm, but we’ve worked out a program which
will allow bringing the ecological harm to a minimum."
