I have got an impression that courts are dealing only with calculation
of conclusions to indict. The court system of our country has started
working accusation-biased, Chairman of Armenian Lawyers’ Chamber Ruben
Sahakyan said at today’s press-conference. He thinks that voluntary
activity of the prosecutor’s office, imposing pressure upon the
courts, is one of the reasons of the impunity atmosphere created in
the country.

‘Our judges cannot make just verdicts as they are always suppressed by
prosecutors..I think we should demand resignation of the prosecutor
general, as he is the culprit of all this’, – Sahakyan said. He also
added that for their part judges cannot adopt decisions independently
as are afraid of the prosecutors to disclose their ‘sins’. ‘Once the
prosecutor general required concrete facts from the ombudsman. There is
only one serious concrete fact – distrust of the people in the court
system’ – Sahakyan said and added is not pleased with the quality of
work of the lawyers either.
