"This is Yerevan, you are home here:" this is the slogan the Armenian
Revolutionary Federation has chosen for its election campaign. The
Party started the campaign with a tree-planting in Yerevan. Today
Dashnaktsutyn presented its pre-election platform at the Moscow Cinema.

Representative of the ARF Supreme Body Armen Rustamyan noted in his
speech that the Party has always stood for changing the status of
the capital city.

"The City Council should form the municipal authority within the
bounds of its liabilities and in line with legislation," he said.

The Armenian Revolutionary Federation promises the lectors to involve
the citizens of Yerevan in the system of administration of the
city. ARF plans to establish a standing oversight Commission leaving
its leadership to the opposition, create the institute of the city
council, work out once-year, four-year and long-term programs of
Yerevan’s development, review and optimize the system of the City
hall staff and pay proper salaries.

To remind, MP Artsvik Minasyan heads the candidate list of the Armenian
Revolutionary Federation. He is followed by architect Albert Achemyan
and ex-Minister of Health Norayr Davidyan.

“I should like to see any power of the world destroy this race, this small tribe of unimportant people, whose wars have all been fought and lost, whose structures have crumbled, literature is unread, music is unheard, and prayers are no more answered. Go ahead, destroy Armenia . See if you can do it. Send them into the desert without bread or water. Burn their homes and churches. Then see if they will not laugh, sing and pray again. For when two of them meet anywhere in the world, see if they will not create a New Armenia.” - WS
