TEHRAN (FNA)- An Armenian official said the construction of
Iran-Armenia gas pipeline is completed.

An spokesman for Armenia’s ministry of energy and natural resources
said the pipeline was ready for use.

Armenia is ready to buy the gas it needed from Iran, the Islamic
republic news agency quoted him as saying.

The pipeline project, which was constructed in two phases, was
inaugurated in the Iranian section last year by the presidents of
the two countries. 40 kms of the 140-kilometer pipeline run in the
Armenian territory up to the capital Yerevan.

The pipeline has the capacity of carrying 10 million cubic meters of
gas per day.

According to an earlier agreement, Iran is to provide 1,100 million
cubic meters of gas to Armenia annually.

The figure is expected to rise to 2,300 cubic meters by 2019.

“I should like to see any power of the world destroy this race, this small tribe of unimportant people, whose wars have all been fought and lost, whose structures have crumbled, literature is unread, music is unheard, and prayers are no more answered. Go ahead, destroy Armenia . See if you can do it. Send them into the desert without bread or water. Burn their homes and churches. Then see if they will not laugh, sing and pray again. For when two of them meet anywhere in the world, see if they will not create a New Armenia.” - WS
