ARMENIA WILL NOT ENTER THE ROUBLE ZONE

Deputy Finance Minister of Armenia Vartan Aramian has stated
that Russia has promised to issue USD 500 million to Armenia as a
stabilization credit. He also denied however that Armenia will enter
the rouble zone in return.
The Deputy Minister stated that before introducing the Euro, EU
countries undertook very serious reforms of customs arrangements,
trading arrangements, legal issues and so forth. As yet, Moscow and
Yerevan have not taken such steps.
