PROFITS OF ARMENIAN UNIBANK INCREASES 5 TIMES IN 2008

YEREVAN, January 19. /ARKA/. Profits of Armenian Unibank in 2008
increased 5 times up to 1.7bln AMD in 2008 against 2007, the bank’s
press-service told ARKA News Agency.

Unibank increased its indicators significantly and consolidated its
positions in Armenian banking system in 2008, which is indicated by
the increase of number of customers. In 2008 the bank served 1.4mln
customers.

The dynamic increase of customers is caused by the bank’s flexible
deposit policy and Unistream payment system.

According to the bank’s press-service Unibank has kept its leading
positions in fixed deposits attracted from individuals for two
years now.

The indicator reached 32.5bln AMD on December 30, 2008, increasing
by 27%, which is an evidence of a growing trust for the bank and
attractiveness of its deposit offers.

As of 2008, the bank’s assets exceeded 68.1bln AMD (49.4% annual
increase), total capital reached 8.8bln AMD (25.8%). Liabilities
increased 53.7% up to 59.3bln AMD. The credit portfolio increased by
17bln AMD up to 46.7bln AMD.

Unibank was founded in 2001. It is co-owned by the Uniastrum
Asset Management Ltd (50%) and the resident company Evainvest Ltd
(50%). Unibank has 30 branches.

According to the information at ARKA’s disposal, at the end of
the 3rd quarter of 2008 the bank registered the 5th largest assets,
liabilities, cr edit investments, 4th largest liabilities to clients,
9th largest total capital and 6th largest profits (January through
September, 2008).
