GEVORG MANUKIAN CONTINUES HUNGER-STRIKE

YEREVAN, JANUARY 14, NOYAN TAPAN. Armen Martirosian, the leader of the
RA NA Zharangutiun (Heritage) faction, and deputy Anahit Bakhshian on
January 13 met with prisoners Armen Khurshudian and Gevorg Manukian
being in the Nubarashen penitentiary institution. As to the official
investigation on the fact of violence used to them on December 23,
2008 in the isolation ward A. Khurshudian stated that though violence
took place, he does not complain.
And Gevorg Manukian expressed discontent with the information spread
by media, according to which, allegedly he refuted the fact of violence
to him.
He said that physical violence to him took place, but after consulting
with his lawyer he will answer the question of the body carrying
on official investigation. G. Manukian also said that he continues
the hunger-strike and has health problems, in particular, permanent
headache and right eye’s eyesight problem.
