YEREVAN, November 7. /ARKA/. Inspections of quality of baked goods and
bread sales norms will be conducted at a number of economic entities
from November 15.

Chief of the RA State Inspectorate for Food Security and Veterinary
Services tion Grigor Baghyan reported that inspections will be
conducted in pursuance of the order issued by RA Minister of
Agriculture Aramais Grigoryan.

Baghyan pointed out that fines to be imposed on violators range from
50,000 AMD to 300,000 AMD ($164-$986).
He pointed out that the owners of sales outlets will be responsible for
not indicating prices and weight of loaves of bread.

The owners of bakeries will be held responsible for underweight and
poor quality of bread, Baghyan said.
He pointed out that the lists of the sales outlets and bakeries fined
for violations will be released after the inspections.

Baghyan reported that 1,098 inspections conducted in Yerevan and in
Armenia’s regions revealed violations.
`We conducted laboratory tests of 98 bread samples and revealed
violations of quality,’ Baghyan said. He added that the sales were
stopped in both cases.

On June 17, 2008, the RA Parliament adopted amendments to the RA Law
`On trade and services’. The amendments took effect at the end of

“I should like to see any power of the world destroy this race, this small tribe of unimportant people, whose wars have all been fought and lost, whose structures have crumbled, literature is unread, music is unheard, and prayers are no more answered. Go ahead, destroy Armenia . See if you can do it. Send them into the desert without bread or water. Burn their homes and churches. Then see if they will not laugh, sing and pray again. For when two of them meet anywhere in the world, see if they will not create a New Armenia.” - WS
