ARMENIA CAN BECOME LABORATORY FOR NEW IDEAS: MINISTER OF ECONOMY

YEREVAN, October 21. /ARKA/. Armenia can become a global laboratory
for new ideas, RA Minister of Economy Nerses Yeritsyan said today
during the opening of the Global Innovation Forum for Education
and Development.

Armenia’s objective is to shape a more organized information and
telecommunications sector, the minister added.

"We need infrastructures to make ideas come true, find necessary
solutions, carry out research by expanding our knowledge, training
ourselves and implementing innovations in business to enter the global
market," Yeritsyan was quoted saying.

The organizers of the four-day forum in Yerevan are the RA Ministry
of Economy, the UN Global Alliance for ICT and Development and the
Athgo International organization.

The workshop focuses on the basic tools that facilitate the creation of
innovative solutions, particularly, systematic and quality educational
opportunities.

The participants will have group discussions and will suggest new
ideas on ICT development, trying to attract experts and specialists.

The chief partners of the forum are the Enterprise Incubator Foundation
(Armenia), Astro -Malaysia, Ericsson AG, Fundacion Cisneros, Microsoft
Corporation and Qualcomm.
