The first stage of joint command staff exercises of the Collective
Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) Rubezh 2008 will take place
in Armenia on July 22, reports the presidential press service. Some
issues related to the organization and conduction of the first stage
of the exercises were discussed during today’s meeting of the working
group for preparation for military exercises Rubezh 2008 headed by
secretary of the national security council Artur Bagdasaryan. Military
exercises of CSTO Rubezh 2008 in Armenia are planned for August and
September of 2008. The exercises will have three stages. The first
two stages will take place in Russia and the third stage including
fulfillment of combat tasks will take place in Armenia.
