MEETING OF ARMENIAN AND RUSSIAN PRESIDENTS TAKES PLACE IN KREMLIN

"We are expecting that during today’s negotiations our discussions
will be effective and will correspond to the partnership level which
exists between Armenia and Russia," Russian President Dmitri Medvedev
said today receiving Armenian President Serzh Sargsian in Kremlin,
his residence.

He greeted the official visit of his Armenian counterpart to Moscow and
said that during the negotiations they will discuss issues on political
partnership, economic and social issues, cultural initiatives between
Armenia and Russia.

Expressing gratitude for the invitation and warm reception,
the Armenian president pointed out the importance of the meeting
in respect of further development of the relations between the two
countries. He expressed assurance that in future as well the ties
between the two countries will develop in the atmosphere of mutual
understanding, friendship.

He expressed assurance that today’s meeting will take bilateral
relations on a new level. Serzh Sargsian also invited Russian president
to visit Armenia at any convenient time for him.

The face-to-face meeting of the presidents will be followed by the
extended meeting after which the two presidents will sign a joint
statement.
