Enterprise Europe Network To Be Officially Launched In Armenia

ENTERPRISE EUROPE NETWORK TO BE OFFICIALLY LAUNCHED IN ARMENIA

The official launch event of the Enterprise Europe Network in Armenia
will be held on June 20, 2008 in the Delegation of the European
Commission to Armenia. There will be present around 100 representatives
of the RA Government, international/foreign organizations and
diplomatic missions, as well as business community at the event.

Opening welcome remarks will be done by H.E. Ambassador, Mr. Raul
de Luzenberger, Head of the Delegation of the European Commission
to Armenia, Mr. Nerses Yeritsyan, Minister of the Trade and Economic
Development of the RA, and Mr. Ishkhan Karapetyan, Executive Director
of the SME DNC of Armenia. The main goals and tender opportunities in
the framework of the Enterprise Europe Network activities implementing
in Armenia will be presented to business community.

In 2007, a call for proposals was announced to select partner
organizations for a new European business support network under the CIP
(Competitiveness and Innovation Framework Programme) of the European
Commission. The proposal presented by the Fund "Small and Medium
Entrepreneurship Development National Centre of Armenia" (SME DNC of
Armenia) at the call has been approved by the European Commission. As
a result, the SME DNC of Armenia as the host partner organization
became the member of the renamed "Enterprise Europe Network" in 2008.

The aim of the Enterprise Europe Network is to support small and
medium enterprises (SMEs) operating in Europe and beyond; to develop
their innovative potential; to get them involved in EU policy making
activities directed to the entrepreneurship support by collecting and
conveying feedback from SMEs to the Commission. The Enterprise Europe
Network offers to entrepreneurs the broadest range of one-stop shop
services which will give opportunities to develop and internationalize
their entrepreneurial activities.

Currently, the Enterprise Europe Network is present in 27 EU member
countries, EU candidate countries – Turkey and Former Yugoslav
Republic of Macedonia, members of the European Economic Area (EEA)
– Norway and Iceland, as well as starting from 2008 – Israel,
Switzerland and Armenia. The Enterprise Europe Network is made up
of around 500 organizations providing tailored business services in
about 40 countries, including chambers of commerce and industry,
regional development agencies and university technology centres
employing around 4000 experienced professionals.

The Enterprise Europe Network provides comprehensive support to
the network member SMEs in the directions as the follows: â~@¢
Providing information on EU policy-making, legislation, standards,
possible sources of financing, business cooperation opportunities
and other EU issues, â~@¢ Supporting SMEs to establish new business
cooperation, identify new would-be business partners and conduct
market researches, â~@¢ Supporting to carry out the negotiations
and endorse technology transfers, â~@¢ Supporting SMEs to evaluate
their efficiency and opportunities for doing cross-border business
activities, â~@¢ Assisting to SMEs applying innovations for R&D
activity and commercializing of their innovative undertakings, â~@¢
Providing feedback from the enterprises to the Commission

The official launch event of the Enterprise Europe Network took place
in Brussels on 6th February, 2008, where the high-ranking officials,
as well as 1000 delegates from 40 countries were present.

The official launch event of the Enterprise Europe Network in Armenia,
as well as network further activities will be accompanying with
expansive advertising campaign, including appropriate TV programs
and video clips broadcasting through main channels, press releases
dissemination via other printed and e-mass medias in order to make
available the opportunities tendered in the framework of this event
as possible for large scope of SMEs.
