Five Teams In Armenian Basketball Championship

FIVE TEAMS IN ARMENIAN BASKETBALL CHAMPIONSHIP

Five teams will participate in the Armenian Basketball Men’s
Championship 2008. This time "Polytechnic", "Arabkir-PHIMA", "Gyumri",
"PHIMA" and "Artsakh" run for the champion’s title.

"On the whole they are equal teams with both young and professional
players", Vahagn Harutyunian, executive manager of Armenian Basketball
Federation, told "A1+".

"They will compete in two rounds after which the best 4 teams will
participate in the play-off. The same principle will work in the
Armenian Basketball Women’s Championship 2008. "Grand Candy", "Ajera",
"Nika", "Ararat" and "GME" will partake in it."

The Basketball Federation also informed about the statistics in Yerevan
Juvenile Basketball Championship 2008. In the girls’ division under 16
"Erebuni" is at the head. The team also leads the table in the girls’
division under 14.

"Ajapnyak" heads the boys’ division under 16, with "Erebuni", "Nairi",
and "Arabkir" staying behind.

"Shengavit" is at the head in the boys’ division under 14.
