ARMENIA DENIES ALLEGED BREACH OF CEASEFIRE WITH AZERBAIJAN

Interfax News Agency, Russia

The Armenian Defense Ministry denies Azerbaijani reports claiming it
allegedly breached the ceasefire, ministry press secretary Col. Seyran
Shahsuvarian told Interfax.

Azerbaijani media reports claiming there was an exchange of gunfire
were wrong, he said. "That was another Azerbaijani canard," he said.

Azerbaijani media reported on Monday, with reference to the Defense
Ministry, that Armenian troops breached the ceasefire on April 27-28.

The media reported that Azerbaijani positions were shelled from unnamed
heights in the Fizuli and Gadabay districts, a location close to the
village of Tapgaragounlu in the Goranboy district, the village of
Kuropatkino and an unnamed height in the Khojavend district and the
villages of Merzili, and Yusifjanly in the Agdam region.

In addition, Armenian troops positioned in the Berd and Ijevan
districts of Armenia fired at Azerbaijani positions in the Tovuz and
Qazakh districts. They were using machine guns and submachine guns. No
one was hurt, the media reported.

“I should like to see any power of the world destroy this race, this small tribe of unimportant people, whose wars have all been fought and lost, whose structures have crumbled, literature is unread, music is unheard, and prayers are no more answered. Go ahead, destroy Armenia . See if you can do it. Send them into the desert without bread or water. Burn their homes and churches. Then see if they will not laugh, sing and pray again. For when two of them meet anywhere in the world, see if they will not create a New Armenia.” - WS
