Azerbaijani ombudsman Elmira Suleymanova has sent an appeal to the
Baku office of the International Committee of the Red Cross with
a request to assist in returning Azerbaijani soldier Eybatov Vusal
Shirsultan oghly, captured by Armenians, to Azerbaijan.

The due announcement was made by the press service for the ombudsman’s
office.

The appeal says that on April 11 of 2008, Azerbaijani serviceman
V.Eybatov was captured by Armenians in Aghdam direction and is
currently in captivity.

"The capture of Azerbaijani servicemen and civilians by Armenians
causes strong anxiety among the population", says the appeal.

The appeal expresses request to control the state of serviceman’s
health.

It should be noted that Vusal Eybatov, born in Khilmilli village of
Gobustan, was captured by Armenians in Aghdam on April 11.

“I should like to see any power of the world destroy this race, this small tribe of unimportant people, whose wars have all been fought and lost, whose structures have crumbled, literature is unread, music is unheard, and prayers are no more answered. Go ahead, destroy Armenia . See if you can do it. Send them into the desert without bread or water. Burn their homes and churches. Then see if they will not laugh, sing and pray again. For when two of them meet anywhere in the world, see if they will not create a New Armenia.” - WS
