ACCORDING TO SERGE SARGSIAN, ARMY WILL CONTINUE TO BE IN CENTER OF SPECIAL ATTENTION OF STATE

YEREVAN, APRIL 15, NOYAN TAPAN. Serge Sargsian, the President of the
Republic of Armenia, introduced Seyran Ohanian, the newly appointed
Minister of Defence, to the higher levels of the officer corps of the
army on April 15 and highly appreciated his active participation in
the strengthening of the army.
Serge Sargsian mentioned that the army will continue to be in the
center of the special attention of the state and that at present
serious problems are set in front of the armed forces. He expressed
confidence that the defence department will successfully carry out
those problems and continue the steps and the process of reforms
directed at the further increase in the fighting ability of the army
under the leadership of Yuri Khachaturov, the newly-appointed Head
of the General Headquarters of the Armed Forces, and the Minister
of Defence.
According to the information provided to Noyan Tapan by the RA
President’s Press Office, Serge Sargsian thanked former Minister Mikael
Haroutiunian for the joint productive work and expressed conviction
that his experience and knowledge will henceforth as well serve to
the development of the army.
