The Head of the Jewish community of Armenia Rimma Varzhapetyan-Feller
has addressed an open letter to the Israeli Knesset, urging them to
"demonstrate reasonableness and adopt the Resolution recognizing the
Armenian Genocide," Mediamax reported.
In her letter Rimma Varzhapetyan-Feller noted: "The discussion of
the Armenian Genocide issue at the Knesset sitting is an important
step in a country, the citizens of which suffered the horrors of the
Holocaust and terrorism."
"Israel has shown the world how dear the human life is, how important
the life of every Jew is and what kind of response is awaiting those
who made an assault against those lives," the letter reads.
"The recognition of the first terrible crime of the 20th century –
the Armenian Genocide – will demonstrate the strength of a civilized
society, the unity of the world. It’s a duty before the killed, the
future, the younger generation and your electors. The security of our
future is in your hands. By demonstrating your harsh position, loyalty,
power, Intellect, wisdom and unity on the question of recognition of
the Armenian Genocide you will be ennobled by your heirs."
