Today the Court of Ararat and Vayots Dzor Marzes passed a sentence upon
Husik Baghdasarian, a Karabakh war veteran, a Yerkrapah Volunteers’
Union member, Vazgen Sargsian’s companion-in-arms and former head of
the Security Services at the RA Government.

The session was presided over by Justice Elena Kocharian who met deputy
prosecutor Hamlet Hakobian’s solicitation to sentence Baghdasarian
to a three-year imprisonment.

"This is a mere political chase, the authorities’ recurrent political
order. Husik Baghdasarian is simply punished for supporting Levon
Ter-Petrossian," Armenian citizen Susanna Hasratian said to A1+
after the trial. She was holding a poster titled "Release Husik
Baghdasarian."

At the end of the trial A1+ asked Husik Baghdasarian to comment
on the verdict. He only said that he views it as a political
"requital." "The Chief of Police of Masis, Gagik Badalian, and the
head of the Investigation Department of Ararat squared their accounts
with me in this way," he said.

To note, the Karabakh war veteran was taken to the courtroom in
handcuffs.

The verdict will be challenged at the Appellate Court.
