RUSSIA READY TO CONTINUE THE MEDIATING EFFORTS TOGETHER WITH THE US AND FRANCE

Jointly with the US and France, Russia "is ready to continue the
active mediation of the OSCE Minsk group Co-Chairs," to conclude
the coordination of the basic principles of the Karabakh conflict
resolution," reads the statement on the Russian Ministry of Foreign
Affairs on the results of the voting on the Karabakh issue in the UN
General Assembly.
Thirty-nine delegations voted in favor of the resolution presented
by Azerbaijan. Seven countries voted against, 100 abstained from
voting. The OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chair countries – Russia, France and
the United States – voted against the document.
"In the joint communiqué on the motives of the voting they explained
their position with the fact that this step of the Azeri side was
one-sided, untimely and counter-productive. Many times and on different
levels the Azerbaijani side has been informed about this position,"
Russian MFA statement reads.
