Serzh Sargsyan: "IT development causes economic development"

SERZH SARGSYAN: `IT DEVELOPMENT CAUSES ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT’

Today the Prime Minister of Armenia and president elect Serzh Sargsyan
met with the pupils of Artashes Shahinyan School and the IT
responsible bodies. The mission of the meeting was to introduce the
works done in IT courses. The course is unique as they are being held
in Yerevan but due to technologies participants from regions can also
follow the course and ask questions via electronic.

The Minister of Science and Education Levon Lazarian was also present
at the meting and he said that the course via distance is possible to
be held from Syunik. He said that from 1430 schools 650 should be
connected to the net in the end of the program, now only 330 schools
have the chance to hold courses that way.

`We think that the IT is not just one branch of economy but an aspect
which could bring fast development to other fields,’ said Serzh
Sargsyan.
