One of these days the song to be presented by Sirusho at Eurovision
Song Contest 2008 will be chosen through TV voting. Sirusho is
expected to present four previously chosen songs on March 8. Head of
the Foreign Relations Department of the Armenian Public Television
Diana Mnatsakanyan told "Radiolur" that more than ten songs were
written, but only four of those have been chosen.

"It’s very pleasant that composers actively participated in the
project. More then ten songs were presented, four of which have
been chosen," Diana Mnatsakanyan said. "There are many interesting
proposals by young Armenian composers. I think this year we’ll have
a large choice," she said.

The lyrics to all songs have been written by Sirusho. The names of the
composers will be announced after the "national vote" is over. This
is one of the rules of Eurovision. "After the song is chosen, we will
start working on the staging of the show," Diana Mnatsakanyan said.

"The Eurovision rules have been changed this year. Hayko’s inclusion in
the top ten last year does not secure our participation in the final,
so that Sirusho will have to perform in the semi-final on May 20. The
final will take place on May 24 in Belgrade."

During a draw on March 16-18 it will become clear under which number
Armenia will perform. The Armenian delegation will depart for Belgrade
a week before the contest.
