RA Prime Minister Receives Newly Appointed Ambassador Of Iran

RA PRIME MINISTER RECEIVES NEWLY APPOINTED AMBASSADOR OF IRAN

YEREVAN, FEBRUARY 13, NOYAN TAPAN. For Armenia, Iran has always been
an important country, friendship and cooperation with which have deep
roots and rich traditions, which binds to confront and to increase
efforts in order to successfully complete joint programs, which
are already underway, and to come up with new mutually beneficial
initiatives. RA Prime Minister Serge Sargsian stated this on February
13, receiving newly appointed IRI Ambassador Extraordinary and
Plenipotentiary to Armenia Seid Ali Saghaian.

During the conversation, the sides mentioned that relations between
Armenia and Iran, especially in the spheres of energy, transport
develop rather dynamically, there are also much possibilities for
developing cooperation in the spheres of science, technologies,
education, culture, and other spheres.

As Noyan Tapan was informed by the RA government’s Information and
Public Relations Department, S. Sargsian and S. A. Saghaian expressing
satisfaction with the level of bilateral economic relations at the same
time emphasized that commodity circulation between the two countries
does not correspond to the level of political relations and current
potential yet. They attached importance to implementation of mutual
active steps in that direction.

According to the report provided to Noyan Tapan by the Information
Services of the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin, the same day Seid
Ali Saghaian was also received by Catholicos of All Armenians Karekin
II. In the person of the Ambassador the Catholicos of All Armenians
thanked the Iranian authorities for careful and considerate attitude
to Armenians living in Iran.

In his turn, Ambassador Seid Ali Saghaian made sure His Holiness
that he will make his efforts serve for deepening of the two states’
cooperation and strengthening of the two peoples’ friendship.
