DISCUSSIONS BETWEEM CHURCHES HELD

On February 5-6, Armenian Apostolic Church and Russian
Orthodox Church held their second meeting of joint
discussion in Holy See St. Echmiadzin. The discussions
were dedicated to human rights and were titled `Human
Rights: Morality and Traditional Values.’ Holy See St.
Echmiadzin information system informs that joint
discussions kicked off in 2001 under the blessings of
the heads of the two churches, Catholicos of All
Armenians Garegin B and All Russia Patriarch Alexei B.
The aim is to discuss issues relating to religious,
clerical and public life.

During the discussion the idea of the outset of the
idea of human rights was touched upon. The clergy also
talked about the link between the Christian tradition
and other religious systems and church and state
relations.
