/PanARMENIAN.Net/ To ensure a healthy competition in the Armenian
cellular market introduction of a third operator is essential, said
Robert Nazaryan, chairman of the committee on regulation of public
services in Armenia.

"The third operator will be selected via a 90-day international
tender to be announced May 1. I think we will know the name of the
third operator in August 2008," he said adding that it will improve
the quality of services and promote price cut," he said.

The company winner will launch activities after making the essential
investments, IA Regnum reports.

Presently, the Armenian cellular market is represented by two
companies, namely ArmenTel (a branch of VympelCom) and K-Telecom
(VivaCell brand). The number of ArmenTel subscribers makes 446 957,
K-Telecom has 1,1 million subscribers.

“I should like to see any power of the world destroy this race, this small tribe of unimportant people, whose wars have all been fought and lost, whose structures have crumbled, literature is unread, music is unheard, and prayers are no more answered. Go ahead, destroy Armenia . See if you can do it. Send them into the desert without bread or water. Burn their homes and churches. Then see if they will not laugh, sing and pray again. For when two of them meet anywhere in the world, see if they will not create a New Armenia.” - WS
