BAZEYAN AFFILIATES HIMSELF WITH HRAK
[05:39 pm] 05 December, 2007

The National Rebirth Party (AVK) is henceforth affiliated with the
Ramkavar-Azatakan Party of Armenia (HRAK). The decision was
unanimously endorsed during today’s conference.

It is due to mention that the conference was attended by people having
no connection with the party. Obviously, most delegates were students
of Jazz College who were forced to attend the conference. Others
stated that they adhered to the Dashink Party and had no notion of the
conference.

However, there were people who came to get acquainted with the party’s
programme as they wanted to become party members. Asked the question
whether they were aware of the party’s dissolution, they blushed and
kept silent.

The presentees voted for the AVK’s dissolution with the exception of
two fellows.

`Nobody has ever wanted to enter into an alliance with the AVK since
the party’s formation. The party couldn’t even afford an office. We
had no money to organise regional tours. While the other wing of the
party boycotted the party’s activities. They did not participate in
the meetings of the political board. And now they demand activity and
state they are the political council, they are majority,’ AVK leader
Albert Bazeyan said.

Let us leave this aside. The conference has made a decision: the
members of the National Rebirth Party will gradually, in accordance
with the regulation, affiliate with the Ramkavar-Azatakan Party,’ he
added.

In reply to reporters’ question whether the conference was legal,
Bazeyan indignantly said, `We give the National Rebirth to them, let
them carry on the party’s activity.’

The AVK conference was attended by HRAK members Harutiun Arakelian and
Gnel Ghlechian.

`This is one of the most significant days in my life,’ Harutiun
Arakelian said. He reiterated his words uttered during the conference
of the Dashink Party.

Emil Lazarian

“I should like to see any power of the world destroy this race, this small tribe of unimportant people, whose wars have all been fought and lost, whose structures have crumbled, literature is unread, music is unheard, and prayers are no more answered. Go ahead, destroy Armenia . See if you can do it. Send them into the desert without bread or water. Burn their homes and churches. Then see if they will not laugh, sing and pray again. For when two of them meet anywhere in the world, see if they will not create a New Armenia.” - WS
