ARMENIAN MIGRANT BUSINESSMEN CREATE OVER 1 MILLION JOBS IN RUSSIAN FEDERATION

YEREVAN, NOVEMBER 7, NOYAN TAPAN. The specific weight of those,
who leave for the purpose of working activities is great among the
Emigration population statum of Armenia: every 2 out of 3 people, who
leave, are leaving for that very purpose. This statement was made by
Gagik Yeganian, the Head of the Department for Migration and Refugee
Issues under the RA Ministry of Territorial Administration, during
the meeting with journalists held on November 7. He mentioned that
according to the research recently conducted by the OSCE, 13.9% of
the home farms of Armenia is involved in the labour migration process.

Gagik Yeganian also stated that according to the marks given
by independent experts, over 1 million jobs have been created by
Armenian migrant businessmen only in the Russian Federation. "And on
the other hand, money transfers are directed to Armenia, as a country
of origin, which, according to the data of the RA Central Bank, are
growing year after year," Gagik Yeganian said, adding that only last
private transfers made approximately 1.2 billion drams.
