ESTONIA SUPPORTS PEACEFUL SOLUTION TO NAGORNO KARABAKH CONFLICT IN THE FRAMEWORK OF AZERBAIJAN’S TERRITORIAL INTEGRITY

Political relations between Azerbaijan and Estonia are in good
level, Azerbaijan Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov said in the
press conference he had along with Estonian Foreign Minister Urmas
Paet, APA reports. He stated that they debated potential of economic
relations between the two countries and stressed that the two sides
are interested in this sector. Mr. Mammadyarov also said that they
discussed situation on the settlement to Nagorno Karabakh conflict,
cooperation between European Union and GUAM. He said that Estonia
supports Lithuanian President Valdas Adamkus’s proposal on the
establishment of EU-GUAM friendship group during energy summit in
Vilnius. Urmas Paet stated that though Estonia-Azerbaijan bilateral
relations are in high level, they are not active. He said that
there are perspectives for the development in many fields. The guest
stressing great significance of energy summit held in Vilnius said
that construction of oil pipeline from Azerbaijan to Baltic Sea will
be useful for all sides. Minister replying to the question of APA on
Estonia’s joining Odessa-Brodi-Plotsk-Gdansk oil pipeline said that
they support this project. Mr. Paet replying to the question regarding
position of Estonia on Nagorno Karabakh conflict stated that there
should not be frozen conflicts in Caucasus, these conflicts should
be solved peacefully or through negotiations in the framework of
territorial integrity of the countries.
