NATO Parliamentary Assembly to Raise Issue of Arson in
Armenian-occupied Azerbaijani Territory

Azerbaijan, Baku / corr Trend I.Alizade / The issue of arson which has
been committed by Armenians in the occupied territory of Azerbaijan
will be discussed at the autumn session of the NATO Parliamentary
Assembly.

The destruction of the culture and historical monuments as well as
damage to the environment will also be on focus, MP Siyavush Novruzov,
an Azerbaijan parliamentary delegate to PA NATO and a member of the
permanent parliamentary commission on defense and security, said in
Baku on 20 September.

`In addition, the Iranian-Armenian relations, military service of
Iranian citizens within the Armenian army and separatist divisions in
Nagorno-Karabakh will be included in the agenda,’ Novruzov said.

`The delegation led by the chairman of the sub-committee of the NATO
PA on democratic governance is currently in Baku. After becoming
familiar with the situation in Azerbaijan, the NATO official will
produce a report in South Caucasus. Should the report be completed, it
will be discussed at the autumn session of NATO PA,’ the MP stated.

Azerbaijan is an associate member of the NATO PA. Ziyafat Asgarov,
the First Vice Speaker will lead the Azerbaijani delegation at the
NATO PA. The Autumn session of the NATO Parliamentary Assembly will be
held in Reykjavik, Iceland, from to 5 to 9 October.
