MAJORITY VOTED FOR ARA HARUTIUNYAN

A few hours ago the meeting of the NKR National Assembly ended,
which affirmed the nomination of Ara Harutiunyan, Karabakh-open.com
reported. The president had nominated Ara Harutiunyan for the post
of prime minister a few days ago. The president and the nominee met
with the representatives of the three parliament factions over the
past few days, who said to endorse him.

32 of 33 members of parliament voted for Ara harutiunyan. Gegham
Baghdasaryan, ARF Dashnaktsutyun – Movement 88, did not show up.

By the end of the meeting of parliament Ara Harutiunyan said after
the appointment he will resign from the post of the leader of the
Azat Hayrenik Party and the mandate of member of parliament.

Ara Harutiunyan was elected to parliament in 2005 from a constituency.

According to the law, after his appointment election to parliament
must be held in his constituency.
