YEREVAN, AUGUST 21, NOYAN TAPAN – ARMENIANS TODAY. Concrete
programs and approaches are necessary for the strengthening of
Armenian-Diasporan relations. This conviction was expressed by Aspet
Kuchikian, a political scientist and professor of the university
of Florida, at the press conference, which was held on August
21. According to him, the material and financial assistance of the
Diaspora is not so important for the state of Armenia.

In the words of Aspet Kuchikian, the "Armenia-Diaspora" parliamentarian
assembly, the All Armenian Games, and other similar meetings are
not so effective in practice. In his opinion, no consistent work is
carried out for a productive use of the potential of the Diaspora
after those measures.

Aspet Kuchikian also mentioned that it is already eight months, since
the RA Law on "Dual Citizenship" has become valid, however, a number
of questions concerning that process are left unanswered as yet.
