The liklihood of war with Armenia in the coming year or two is very
small," stated political scientist Rasim Musabekov to "Day.az". In
his words, Azerbaijan still hasn’t reached its full military potential.

Returning to the statement of the American secretary of European
and Asia issues, the Azerbaijani said that just as the statements
of Matthew Bryza, those of Daniel Frid are nothing but those of low
government officials, and are not to be taken seriously. "We have
to understand that those men are merely revealing already stated
positions, while for Azerbaijan what is more important are their
financial and political realities, and the issues they present to the
State Department" states Musabekov. Returning to Frid’s statement, that
Azerbaiijan would suffer in the event of resumed war, Musabekov said,
"Taking into account the tense situation in the region, even without
a resumed war, I consider his statement merely as one keeping busy,
and trying to avoid a serious search for solutions."

“I should like to see any power of the world destroy this race, this small tribe of unimportant people, whose wars have all been fought and lost, whose structures have crumbled, literature is unread, music is unheard, and prayers are no more answered. Go ahead, destroy Armenia . See if you can do it. Send them into the desert without bread or water. Burn their homes and churches. Then see if they will not laugh, sing and pray again. For when two of them meet anywhere in the world, see if they will not create a New Armenia.” - WS
