NAGORNYY KARABAKH REPORTS DETAINING AZERI TRESPASSER

Yerevan, 3 August: An Azerbaijani citizen was detained at the
northwestern section of the contact line between the armed forces
of Nagornyy Karabakh and Azerbaijani while crossing [the border]
into Nagornyy Karabakh on 2 August.

The man did not have identity documents on him, the Nagornyy Karabakh
state committee for war prisoners and missing persons told Mediamax
today. The detainee said that his name is Anar Manaf oglu Aliyev and
that he was born in the Azerbaijani town of Mirbasir in 1978 and has
lived there until recently.

The appropriate bodies of Nagornyy Karabakh are investigating the
Azerbaijani’s motives for crossing [the border] into Nagornyy Karabakh.

The Nagornyy Karabakh state committee for war prisoners and missing
persons has reported the incident to the OSCE and Red Cross Committee
offices accredited in Nagornyy Karabakh.

Members of the Stepanakert office of the Red Cross Committee visited
the detainee today and he gave them a letter for his relatives.
