RSFCA PUBLISHES REFERENCE BOOK ABOUT ARMENIA

ARMENPRESS

YEREVAN, JULY 9, ARMENPRESS: Viktor Krivopuskov, chairman of the
Russian Society for Friendship and Cooperation with Armenia (RSFCA),
told a news conference in Yerevan on Saturday that his country fellows
have actually a very vague idea about Armenia and its people, despite
allied relationships between the two countries.

He lamented that ‘many Russian politicians do not even know that
Armenia is a Christian nation and that Nagorno-Karabakh is a historical
Armenian province."

Viktor Krivopuskov served as head of the investigative-operative
group in 1990-1991 that was dispatched to Nagorno-Karabakh by the
former Soviet leadership. He wrote a book about his experience of
those years and presented it in Yerevan on Saturday.

The book is called ‘Rebellious Karabakh."

Krivopuskov also initiated and contributed heavily to publication of
a Russian language reference book called "Armenia, 200 Questions and
Answers about the Country and the People Since the Days of the Bible."

The book provides information about Armenia’s geography, people,
history, economy, religion, culture, sports, science and about’
unprecedented Russian-Armenian’ relations with the focus on huge
contribution of ethnic Armenians into Russian history, science,
economy and culture.

This is the second reference book about Armenia published by RSFCA. The
first was published in 2006 and had 100 answers to 100 questions.

Emil Lazarian

“I should like to see any power of the world destroy this race, this small tribe of unimportant people, whose wars have all been fought and lost, whose structures have crumbled, literature is unread, music is unheard, and prayers are no more answered. Go ahead, destroy Armenia . See if you can do it. Send them into the desert without bread or water. Burn their homes and churches. Then see if they will not laugh, sing and pray again. For when two of them meet anywhere in the world, see if they will not create a New Armenia.” - WS
