Yerevan, 23 June: The current negotiations between Armenia and NATO
have nothing to do with the prospect of this country’s admission to the
alliance. They touch on issues of maximum cooperation between the
sides, the special representative of the NATO secretary-general for the
South Caucasus, Robert Simmons, has told our correspondent.

He said that the implementation of current plans facilitate cooperation
between Armenia and NATO within the framework of the Individual
Partnership Action Plan (IPAP). "Armenia sets goals, and we approve
these goals together and decide how to help the country go forward in
the shown direction".

"Cooperation within the framework of the IPAP is a document which are
approved by the sides. However, the issue of membership, unfortunately,
is not on the negotiating table at the moment," the NATO representative
said.
