ARMENIA AND NATO INTEND TO DEVELOP COOPERATION

RA Prime Minister Serge Sargsyan received the Special Representative
of NATO Secretary General for the South Caucasus and Central Asia
Robert Simmons. He first conveyed the congratulations of the Secretary
General to Serge Sargsyan on his appointment to the position of the
Head of RA Government.

The parties emphasize the importance of the Individual Partnership
Action Plan (IPAP) with regard to the development of Armenia-NATO
political dialogue and cooperation. The Prime Minister said the
Armenian Government will allocate necessary financial means and will
concentrate efforts for the timely and effective execution of the Plan.

The parties turned to Armenia’s participation in peacekeeping missions.

The Armenian Prime Minister mentioned that our country is ready to
have an active participation in this mission. Sereg Sargsyan showed
interest in the developments of the issue of Kosovo independence.

At the end of the meeting the interlocutors reconfirmed the willingness
to uphold and develop the cooperation.
