On June 7, the court for gross military crimes chaired by Judge
Mamedbagir Zeinalov will hold preliminary meeting dedicated to the
case of former serviceman Eldeniz Nuriev. Nuriev is charged according
to three articles of the Criminal Code: high treason, breaching
combat duty rules and deserting. Nuriev was captured by Armenians on
December 31 of 2006 on the territory of the Fizuli District. With
the assistance of international organizations, he was released on
January 16 of 2007. The court will also hold a preliminary meeting
dedicated to the case of three other former servicemen: Elman Akhmedov,
Ramin Mamedagaev and Agasalim Salimov. According to investigators,
these servicemen were caught in relations with the enemy between
July and October of 2006 during sentinel service. Agents of the
National Security Ministry revealed these relations and arrested the
servicemen. Both trials will be held in a closed regime.
