Dashnaktsutyun Party may not become a part of a coalition, unless it
supports RA PM Serge Sargsian’s nominee at the Presidential elections
to be held in 2008, a member of RA Republican Party Council Galust
Sahakian stated in the course of a press conference on Tuesday.

In his words, if Dashnaktsutyun offers its nominee at the Presidential
elections, it will be "a partial cooperation, and not a strong one,
like a bloc or a coalition".

"I think it is absurd, if the coalition is formed and strong ties
are established, and the forces coming together will support various
nominees", Sahakian said.

Armenian Revolutionary Federation (Dashnaktsutyun) is in the third
place, according to the outcomes of the Parliamentary elections. It
has received 13% of the electorate’s votes.

ARFD is one of Armenia’s oldest parties, established in 1890.

After the Parliamentary elections held in 2003 ARF Dashnaktsutyun
entered the ruling coalition with the RA Republican Party and Orinats
Yerkir Party, which left the coalition in May 2006.
