Russian And French Co-Chairs To Have Meetings With Armenian Leadersh

Yesterday evening the Russian and French Co-Chairs of the OSCE Minsk
Group Yuri Merzlyakov and Bernard Fassier arrived in Yerevan. According
to the Acting Press Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs
Vladimir Karapetyan, the Co-Chairs will meet with Vartan Oskanian
tomorrow. The mediators are also scheduled to meet with President
Robert Kocharyan.

According to Vladimir Karapetyan, discussions will be launched on
the new suggestions the o-Chairs made in Belgrade. On May 11 in
Strasbourg Vartan Oskanian presented the approaches of the Armenian
side; the discussions will continue in Yerevan. Vladimir Karapetyan
noted that the meetings will be targeted at preparing the meeting of
the Presidents of Armenia and Azerbaijan.

The Co-Chairs are due to leave Yerevan on May 24, but they will return
early June.

NKR Representation in Armenia informs that no meetings with the
Karabakhi side are envisaged.
