CONFERENCE ON NAGORNO KARABAKH TO BE HELD IN MOSCOW MAY 27

/PanARMENIAN.Net/ A conference titled "The Call of Mrav" dedicated
to Shahumyan region of northern Nagorno Karabakh will be held in the
Central House of Men of Letters, Moscow, on May 27, 2007, Yerkramas,
the newspaper of Armenians of Russia reported. The event was initiated
by the NKR representation in Russia, the Russian-Armenian Commonwealth
(Hay Dat Moscow office) and the Union of Armenian Youth (Mitq).

The main goal of the conference is to familiarize the audience with
ethnography, culture and historical events that influenced on the
fate of present-day Shahumyan region.

NKR Foreign Minister’s advisor A. Melik-Shahnazarov, senior fellow of
the institute of anthropology and ethnography at the Russian academy of
sciences A. Ter-Sargsyants, expert of the strategic culture foundation
A. Areshev and students of Moscow institutions will be the speakers
of the event.

Mrav Mountain is situated in Shahumyan region in the north of Nagorno
Karabakh and is the symbol of the land like Ararat is the symbol of
Armenia. Since 1992 Shahymayn is controlled by Azerbaijan.
