ARMENIAN PRESIDENT STATED THAT ALL THE "REGISTERED SHORTCOMINGS AND VIOLATIONS WILL BE THOROUGHLY STUDIED TO TAKE THE NECESSARY MEASURES AND TO REESTABLISH LEGALITY"

Yerevan, May 14. /Mediamax/. Armenian President Robert Kocharian
stated today that all the "registered shortcomings and electoral
violations will be thoroughly studied to take the necessary measures
and reestablish legality".

Mediamax reports that this is said in the address of the President
to the people of Armenia in connection with the conclusion of the
parliamentary elections, which took place on May 12.

Robert Kocharian stated that "the elections were free, fair and
transparent; the Central Electoral Commission, the law-enforcement
bodies, as well as the local and international observation
organizations confirm that".

"I congratulate us all on one more important steps in the direction
of democracy", the address of the President reads.

Armenian President noted that all the participants of the electoral
process – the members of electoral commissions, the candidates and
the proxies on the whole acted within the limits of law.
