CIS observers estimate elections important step towards stability

CIS OBSERVERS ESTIMATE ARMENIA’S PARLIAMENTARY ELECTIONS AS IMPORTANT
STEP TOWARDS COUNTRY’S STABLE DEVELOPMENT AND DEMOCRATIZATION

YEREVAN, May 13. /ARKA/. The CIS observers think that the
parliamentary elections in Armenia are an important step towards
country’s stable development and further democratization.
The Government’s press service reported that the Executive Secretary
and Chairman of the CIS Executive Committee Vladimir Rushailo said
this during his meeting with Armenia’s President Robert Kocharyan, on
Sunday.
"Rushailo presented the conclusion of the CIS observer’s mission and
pointed out that the elections passed in accordance with the election
code and estimated them as free, fair and transparent," the message
said.
Rushailo pointed out that the CIS observers fixed definite technical
shortcomings and made a number of proposals for their improvement.
